At Kent Skin and Laser Clinic, dealing with acne and acne scarring is one of our specialities.
We understand that this common condition can be disheartening, but with the right protocol, it can be managed.
Acne occurs when there is an excessive amount of oil production in the skin and blockage which stop the oil-producing glands from releasing oil.
It is also caused by a bacterium called Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes), which causes inflammation in the blocked glands.
We offer a range of treatments specifically for those who suffer from acne or acne scars so we can tailor a program to treat your individual needs.
With our successful and comprehensive range of treatments, our Dermatologists will ensure you are well-informed about all options available to you for clearing up your skin and looking your best again.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Acne scars are changes in the skin that occur after inflamed acne has healed, often leaving behind uneven texture, indentations, or discolouration. They can vary in appearance depending on the severity of the acne and how the skin heals.
While acne scars can be long-lasting, they are not always permanent. Early and effective management of active acne is important in helping to reduce the risk of scarring. At Kent Skin and Laser Clinic, we offer a range of in-clinic treatments alongside medical-grade laser and IPL to both manage active acne and improve the appearance of existing scars, supporting smoother, clearer-looking skin over time.
Acne affects most people at some point during their lives and will usually go away on its own, usually during teenage years. If acne is still prevalent in adulthood, treatment may be needed to help to control acne or to help reduce acne scarring.
Treatment times vary depending on the case of acne scars on hand, as well as the treatment plan selected. Micro-needling, for example, can produce visible signs of improvement, within 6-8 weeks of treatment.
Our skin treatments for scars are long-lasting, and often permanent, although in some circumstances you may need repeated treatments in the future.
