Dermaroller Treatments....the 21st century version of skin needling.

Used to treat:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Crow’s feet, lipstick lines
  • Neck
  • Hands
  • Décolletage
  • Stretch marks
  • Skin laxity
  • Acne scars, chicken pox scars

Also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy and Micro-Needling, it is aimed at stimulating the body’s own collagen production

MEDICAL dermarollers create a multitude of tiny puncture wounds to the dermis which induces the release of growth factors that stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin, thus the skin becomes smoother, plumper and more youthful.

COSMETIC rollers, used by beauty therapists, and home use personal dermarollers reach a much shallower level, where they mainly aid absorption of topical ingredients.

Dermarollers can be used in all skin types and are not affected by skin colour.

A treatment session typically takes about 30 minutes.

The skin will be red and flushed, similar in appearance to moderate sunburn. There will also be some skin tightness and mild sensitivity for about 48 hours.

A course of 3 to 5 sessions at 6-8 week intervals is usually recommended to achieve optimum results; however most will notice skin improvement after just 1 session.

In the Canterbury Skin & Laser Clinic, the treatment is carried out only by doctors with dermatology training and expertise.
